While the Los Angeles Kings and general manager Ken Holland were busy addressing roster needs and adding depth on the opening day of free agency yesterday, other former Kings' players were finding new homes around the league.

Over a half dozen Kings' players under contract with the team this past regular season have, or will, find new homes via free agency this summer.

Here's a look at where every former Kings' player has signed in free agency so far this offseason.

Jeff Malott, W (Anaheim Ducks)

After earning a spot in the roster lineup this past regular season with the Kings during a strong training camp and preseason, gritty winger Jeff Malott is taking his size and physicality to the in-state Pacific Division foe Anaheim Ducks this upcoming season.

Malott was a regular contributor in the Kings' forward lineup this past season, scoring three goals and nine total points in 58 games played. The Ducks signed Malott to a three-year contract, worth around $1.85 million in average annual value on Day 1 of free agency.

Andrei Kuzmenko, W (Pittsburgh Penguins)

For this past few months, it felt like the Kings and winger Andrei Kuzmenko were destined to part ways in free agency this offseason. In the postseason press conference and exit interviews, it sounded like Kuzmenko wasn't anticipating re-signing with the Kings this offseason.

Kuzmenko signed a one-year contract deal with the Pittsburgh Penguins, worth $5 million in base value.

He made an immediate impact offensively for the Kings after arriving in Los Angeles at the trade deadline in 2025, registering 17 total points in 22 games and providing a spark to the team's top six. Kuzmenko was a fan favorite in Los Angeles, and he will be a productive scorer in Pittsburgh for the Penguins this upcoming season.

Glenn Gawdin, C (New York Rangers)

The Ontario Reign saw their top-line center for this past couple of seasons, Glenn Gawdin, depart via free agency and sign with the New York Rangers this offseason. Gawdin never played an NHL game with the Kings this past couple of seasons.

Mathieu Joseph, W (Edmonton Oilers)

Holland and the Kings picked up speedy winger Mathieu Joseph at the trade deadline this past regular season after he was bought out by the St. Louis Blues. He was a depth player for the Kings in the forward lineup down the stretch this past regular season, playing a dozen games for Los Angeles.

Pheonix Copley, G (Columbus Blue Jackets)

Veteran goalie Pheonix Copley had a pretty wild journey with the Kings this past year. He started off training camp and the preseason with the Kings, before joining the Tampa Bay Lightning after getting sent through waivers before the regular season.

The Kings traded for Copley when starter Darcy Kuemper went down with an injury this past season. He started one game for the Kings this past season in a 3-2 loss to the Seattle Kraken in the Pacific Division on Dec. 23.
