2. Hampton Slukynsky
In all actuality, George and Hampton Slukynsky are probably 2a and 2b but I give Slukynsky a slight edge with him helping the Western Michigan University Broncos to win their first ever NCAA Ice Hockey Championship. He was a big reason for their success and he would finish the season with a 19-5-1 record, goals against average of 1.90 and a save percentage of .933
Slukynsky would continue to college awards this year and helped the United States win a gold medal at the 2025 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships. He would appear in two games and had a save percentage of .933 and a goals against average of only 1.50 after allowing three goals in total between the two games.
He is set to return to Western Michigan University next season but could also be heading to Ontario soon after that season.
1. Liam Greentree
In terms of prospects within the Los Angeles Kings organization, there is a clear number one and it isn't even close. Liam Greentree was the Kings' first round pick last year and had an unbelievable season in the OHL with 119 points after scoring 49 goals with 70 assists.
He continued the strong play right into the playoffs with 14 goals and 10 assists in only 11 games, including five goals in one game.
Even at 19 years old, Greentree already has great size at 6'3" and 216 pounds with an excellent shot. He may not skate as well as some others but makes up for it with his puck-handling.
Similar to George, Greentree almost certainly will be playing in the OHL next season but after that it feels like all bets are off. It wouldn't be overly surprising to see him make the jump to the NHL as soon as the 2026-27 season.
