The Los Angeles Kings wrapped up their games in March on Sunday night against the San Jose Sharks with a dominant 8-1 performance. They finished the month scoring seven or more goals in three of their final six games and had a record of 10-5-1 for the entire month.
They will be trying to keep that momentum going into April and the final weeks of the regular season. As they enter April, they currently are in second place in the Pacific Division and if they hold that spot in the standings they will have home ice for at least the first round of the playoffs.
When looking back at the prior month, these were the players that really impressed and helped the Kings have the success they did.
5 players who shined in March for the LA Kings
Quinton Byfield
Quinton Byfield had an excellent February and continued that high level of play into March but had a very different impact than the month prior. In February, he led the league in assists with 11 total that month.
In March, it was his shot that was on display with an impressive total of eight goals in 16 games. This is the same number of goals that he had in the 32 games before March. He would have six of his eight goals in consecutive games that went from March 5th to March 15th and included two game-winning goals and a short-handed goal.
Over the past two months, it has felt like Kings fans are watching a star in the making. If he continues this into the playoffs, the Kings are going to be tough to beat.
