What to expect from Adrian Kempe in the 2024-25 season?
Last season, Adrian Kempe took a step backward in terms of goal-scoring with 28, the lowest total since the 2020-21 season, however set a career-high in assists with 47. That was 20 more than the next-best season in this category and was also why he surpassed 70 points for the first time in his career.
However, for the second straight season, he did his best work in the playoffs. While the Kings couldn't get past the Oilers, this was not the fault of Kempe as he had four goals and an assist in five games. This was after scoring five goals with three assists in six games the season before that.
Entering this season, Kempe will be lined up next to Anze Kopitar on that top line for the Kings. The biggest question will be whether or not the goal-scoring comes back this season and if he can get back to that 40-goal level. If he can do that, it would be a huge lift for an offense that needs goal-scorers.
