The Los Angeles Kings have had some incredible goal-scorers in their franchise history, including the greatest of all time Wayne Gretzky. While the Great One did have 246 goals, he played only eight seasons with the Kings and ranks eighth all-time for the franchise in this category.
However, the player who owns this record was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in 1984 and would have separate stints with the franchise. He in total would play 14 seasons and is considered one of the best ever to wear the Kings uniform.
Luc Robitaille has the record for most goals with the LA Kings, a record that is unlikely to fall anytime soon
Luc Robitaille would be drafted by the Kings in 1984 and make his first appearance in the NHL during the 1986-1987 season. He quickly became one of the top players on the team and had 40 or more goals in each of his first eight seasons. He would set his career high for a season in 1991-1992 with 63.
After three seasons split between the Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Rangers, he returned to the Los Angeles Kings before the 1997-1998 season. While he wasn't the same player from earlier in his career, he was still very productive as a goal scorer with 30 or more goals in four of his five seasons.
After two seasons with the Detroit Red Wings, he returned to the Kings for the 2003-04 and 2005-06 seasons with 37 goals over that time span. He would need pretty much every one of those goals to take the record as he passed Marcel Dionne in his final season, who owned the record since 1987 with his career total of 550 goals.
Luc Robitaille ended up with 557 goals for his career with the Los Angeles Kings with another 111 goals in his five seasons with the Penguins, Rangers, and Red Wings.
