Early look at the Los Angeles Kings free agents in 2025
The 2024-25 season is quickly approaching for the Los Angeles Kings and while that is the primary focus right now, general manager Rob Blake will need an eye to the future. Next offseason, the Kings are going to have some tough decisions to make and depending on how this season goes, could determine the direction they take.
With that in mind, let's take a look at the unrestricted and restricted free agents for the Los Angeles Kings after this season.
Los Angeles Kings Unrestricted Free Agents
- Tanner Jeannot
- Trevor Lewis
- Vladislav Gavrikov
- Andreas Englund
- David Rittich
- Pheonix Copley
The Los Angeles Kings have six players who are set to be unrestricted free agents after this season, including one player who has yet to step on the ice for the Kings in Tanner Jeannot. The Kings traded for Jeannot this past offseason including a 2025 second-round pick. It is hard to imagine if Jeannot plays well, that the Kings would let him walk especially considering they are without their draft pick in the next draft.
The other notable player on this list is Vladislav Gavrikov, who has been a key part of this defense since the Kings traded for him during the 2022-23 season as part of the Jonathan Quick trade. If he does reach free agency, he will undoubtedly draw a lot of interest and could be a challenge for the Kings to re-sign.
Los Angeles Kings Restricted Free Agents
- Alex Laferriere
The Los Angeles Kings have only one player who is set to be a restricted free agent and that is Alex Laferriere. He reached the NHL for the first time in his career last year and played in 81 games and had 23 points.
Laferriere was a pleasant surprise last season and the Kings are hoping he can continue to contribute this morning. It is tough to imagine the Kings wouldn't find a way to bring him back at the end of his entry-level contract after this season.
