We continue the series of the Los Angeles Kings player reviews and report cards for the 2025-26 season with 30-year-old winger Trevor Moore.

The Thousand Oaks, CA, native remained a versatile contributor in all three zones for the Kings during the regular season and postseason. However, offensive inconsistencies continued to limit his overall impact.

Trevor Moore's performance for the Los Angeles Kings in the 2025-26 season

In the 2025-26 regular season, Moore registered double-digit goals and 32 total points in 69 games played.

Though he started out this past regular season pretty slow offensively and on the stat sheet, Moore picked up his game after the Olympic break this past February. In the regular season's final month this spring, Moore registered three goals and eight total points in just nine games played.

He was also an impactful contributor on both sides of the ice and offensively for the Kings in four postseason games played. He registered one goal, one assist, and two total points in four games played in the postseason for the Kings in the first round vs. the Colorado Avalanche.

While this wasn't the offensive bounce-back season many Kings fans hoped to see from Moore, he adjusted his game and still found ways to contribute throughout the lineup.

Moore continued to provide value on the penalty kill and remained one of the Kings' more reliable defensive wingers.

Moore continued to make many of the underappreciated plays that help winning teams, particularly in the defensive zone and through the neutral zone. He and Joel Armia were the only Kings wingers to record at least 25 takeaways and 30 blocked shots this season.

After proving he could be a 30-goal scorer earlier in his Kings tenure, expectations remained higher than what Moore ultimately produced offensively in 2025-26.

That said, failing to approach the 20-goal mark in each of the last two seasons remains disappointing given the offensive expectations surrounding Moore.

Moore's offensive production fell short of expectations, but his defensive contributions, penalty-kill work, and versatility prevented what otherwise could have been a disappointing season.

2025-26 Season Grade: C+

What to expect from Trevor Moore moving forward with the Los Angeles Kings in the 2026-27 season?

Moore has two years remaining on his current contract, which pays him around $4.2 million in average annual value through the end of the 2027-28 season for the Kings.

At this stage of his career, Moore may be more valuable as a reliable middle-six winger than as a primary scoring threat.

I'd expect Moore to continue to transition his role to more of that of a versatile two-way speedster for the Kings at the winger position. His ability to generate speed on the rush and in the neutral zone not only helps the Kings on special teams on the penalty kill, but it also makes them a more dangerous team with the puck on the breakout going east-to-west in the zone.

If Moore can return to being a 20-goal, 40-point contributor next season, his value to the Kings would increase significantly, particularly in a top-six role and on special teams.
