Insider says LA Kings might not be done on the trade block

An NHL insider said on a podcast earlier this week on Wednesday that the LA Kings aren't done on the trade block this regular season in the West before the deadline next month in early March in the Pacific Division.

When the Los Angeles Kings and new general manager Ken Holland get back to action from the current three-week break for the 2026 Winter Olympics late this month in February this regular season, it looks like the front office could be active on the trade block and before the trade deadline next month.

Warren Foegele and Trevor Moore could reportedly be dealt on the trade block this regular season for the Los Angeles Kings before the deadline next month

There are more possible trade chips on the active roster lineup offensively that Holland and the Kings' front office could realistically consider moving this regular season in the West in the Pacific Division.

Holland and the Kings have continued to be active on the phones and keep open lines of communication on the trade block this regular season in the West. The Kings acquired skill and star power, scoring the puck offensively with playmaker forward Artemi Panarin from the Rangers in New York in the East a couple of weeks ago on the block and before the trade deadline in early March.

David Pagnotta gave an update on the Kings' general manager strategy going into the trade deadline next month in early March on the Oilersnation Everyday podcast earlier this week. He said that "I don't think LA's done" and that there are multiple names he's heard that Holland and the Kings' front office have been kicking the tires on possibly trading on the block at the deadline next month in early March.

"I don't think LA's done, and I think they can be a little bit creative in how they maneuver their roster. We've heard Andrei Kuzmenko's name before, we've heard Trevor Moore's name before, and now obviously Warren Foegele."

I must admit that it doesn't make much sense to me why the Kings would consider trading Andrei Kuzmenko on the block this regular season in the West. We've heard Trevor Moore and Warren Foegele's names mentioned in various trade rumors and discussions on social media in this past few weeks in the West.

The Kings could be looking to move fast offensively to stock the cupboard with more talented players to add to the active roster lineup this regular season and before the trade deadline next month in early March. Holland and the Kings signed Panarin to a two-year contract extension deal worth around $11.5 million in average annual value (through the end of the 2026-27 season).

It would make sense for Holland and the Kings' front office to use the trade chips in the active roster lineup offensively to go out and get a player with veteran stability who can help upgrade the forward lines core group this regular season.
