The Los Angeles Kings fans will have plenty of interest in watching the University of Denver next season with last year's draft pick James Reeder now being joined by Epperson and Brendan McMorrow, who they drafted with their first of two picks in the seventh round.
McMorrow had an excellent season in the USHL with the Waterloo Black Hawks where he had 24 goals and 18 assists in 58 games. He would add another 14 points in 15 playoff games for the Black Hawks.
Will Sharpe had to wait almost to the end to get drafted but might have gotten one of the best announcements in the entire NHL Draft from this LA Kings fan. He certainly was excited, and the Kings should be excited to get this kind of value and upside at this point of the NHL Draft.
Sharpe played 66 games in the WHL this past season with nine goals and 35 assists as a defenseman. The offensive skillset is evident while watching him play but as the scouting report notes on Neutral Zone, there is bad habits that he needs to correct on the defensive end to really be considered to have a real shot at the NHL.
There is no question that the potential is there and it will be interesting if he is able to correct some of these things to give himself a shot.
