The Los Angeles Kings focus is now squarely on the Edmonton Oilers and this year's team main goal is to accomplish something the previous three teams were unable to do. That would be to beat the Oilers in the playoffs and advance to the next round.

Russell Morgan with Hockey Royalty recently spoke with Phillip Danault and Trevor Moore to get their thoughts on the upcoming series. One of the things they highlighted in terms of importance to winning this series was their depth. It is something that has been on display most of this season as they have gotten production up and down the roster.

It is a trend that has to continue into the playoffs and when looking at the roster, these are four players in particular that might be under-the-radar but could have a major impact against the Edmonton Oilers.

Warren Foegele

Warren Foegele is borderline if he can truly be considered under-the-radar but when discussing the top forwards on the Los Angeles Kings, Foegele is typically mentioned after players like Adrian Kempe, Anze Kopitar, Quinton Byfield, and even Kevin Fiala. However, Foegele has been a big part of the Kings' offense this season and set a career record in points while finishing in Top 5 in the entire NHL in +/- of +36.

This series also has a little more meaning for Warren Foegele as he will be going against his former team, the Edmonton Oilers. Originally a third round pick by the Carolina Hurricanes, Foegele joined the Oilers prior to the 2021-22 season and each season made steady improvements year over year.

In the playoff series last season, Foegele had a goal and an assist in the first two games of the series. The Los Angeles Kings are hoping for a similar impact early but throughout the entirety of their series against the Edmonton Oilers.
