The LA Kings wrapped up the regular season on Thursday but thankfully that wasn't the end of the season as they would earn a spot in the playoffs for the fourth straight year. While there is still hockey to be played, after looking back at the regular season, these were three stats that were surprising and could be overlooked.
Warren Foegele ranks fourth in NHL in +/-
One of the best moves by general manager Rob Blake was the free agent signing of Warren Foegele. He was a good player with Edmonton and seemed to show improvement season over season, but this year he took a major step forward and his impact on the Kings' offense.
Foegele finished the season with 24 goals and 22 assists (which were both career highs) but a remarkable +/- of +36. That not only led the Los Angeles Kings but it wasn't even close as Vladislav Gavrikov was next in that stat with a +/- of +26. The total was also good enough for Foegele to finish tied for fourth highest in the entire NHL.
The only other players ahead of him were Ryan McDonagh of the Tampa Bay Lightning, Brayden McNabb of the Vegas Golden Knights, and Aliaksei Protas of the Washington Capitals.
