Utah Mammoth

The Utah Mammoth are a big wild card in free agency this summer as they have enough cap space (around $20 million) to make a splash. It wouldn't be surprising that as a new franchise with a new mascot, they want to keep the fans excited by bringing in a big-name free agent like Gavrikov or even Mitch Marner.

The Mammoth already has Mikhail Sergachev, who is an excellent left defenseman so Gavrikov likely would be brought in as an upgrade over Ian Cole on that second line. He could be paired with Michael Kesselring and give the Mammoth another veteran with playoff experience to pair with the younger defenseman.

Boston Bruins

The Bruins have a new head coach that the Los Angeles Kings now well in Marco Sturm, who has been an assistant head coach with the Kings or head coach for their AHL affiliate for close to a decade. Now that he is in Boston he will be looking to build out a roster that fits his style of play, so it wouldn't be surprising to see him sign some former Kings' players, and there is none better who is available than Gavrikov.

The Bruins could certainly use an upgrade on the left side of their defense heading into next season, as Hampus Lindholm is trying to come back from injuries after playing only 17 games the season prior, and Mason Lohrei had a +/- of -43. With over $26 million in cap space, it wouldn't be surprising to see the Bruins try to sign Gavrikov to help solidify that defense heading into Sturm's first season.
