The Winnipeg Jets were struggling entering this game against the Los Angeles Kings and those struggles continued on Friday night. The Jets were not able to get much going in this game and the Kings controlled from start to finish en route to a 2-1 road win in Winnipeg.
The Kings thought they had an early lead in the first period after Jordan Spence was able to beat Eric Comrie. However, that play was quickly reviewed and the goal was waved off after it was determined the Kings were offsides.
In the second period they would finally get the lead after Alex Turcotte was able to redirect a shot by Adrian Kempe to break the scoreless tie.
In the third period, the Winnipeg Jets answered after the Los Angeles Kings were called for back-to-back penalties. It would be the second power play that the Jets would tie it up with a goal by Mark Scheifele.
The game would head to overtime but the Los Angeles Kings would secure two points after Adrian Kempe beat Comrie for the 2-1 win over the Jets.
