Jim Hiller
In my opinion, the person with the Los Angeles Kings who is under the most pressure this season has to be head coach Jim Hiller. He will be entering Year 3 as head coach, his second full season, and the moves made by Holland seemed to be exactly what Hiller would look for.
One of the biggest criticisms from the playoffs last season was how Hiller managed the minutes of his players. In particular, he leaned heavily on veterans while younger players like Clarke, Spence and Alex Turcotte, saw their time significantly cut.
The Kings bringing in veterans like Corey Perry, Joel Armia, Cody Ceci and Brian Dumoulin appear to be players that Hiller is going to trust in those playoff situations. This should hopefully spread out minutes with a deeper, more experienced roster.
However, a slow start to the season may be too much for Hiller to overcome and if he hopes to coach them in the playoffs, the Kings need to stay in contention all season long.
The regular season was arguably one of the best in franchise history and they tied the record for points in a season with 105. The pressure will be on Jim Hiller to deliver once again but this time get them past the playoffs.
