Dylan Larkin, C (Detroit Red Wings)
Another rumor that had a bunch of steam early this offseason on the trade block involves the Detroit Red Wings captain and center Dylan Larkin.
Original reports of Larkin requesting a trade from the Red Wings early this offseason indicated that he was only interested in going to a few teams this summer. A report from this past Tuesday from TSN's Darren Dreger noted that Larkin has been unwilling to expand his trade list for the Red Wings this summer.
If Larkin does end up expanding his trade list later this offseason, that could give the Kings a chance to get some offers heard by the Red Wings before the start of training camp and the preseason this fall.
Theoretically, Larkin could immediately fill the biggest priority need in the roster lineup for the Kings this offseason, getting a first-line center after the retirement of Anze Kopitar.
It would definitely cost a Kings' ransom for LA to get Larkin from the Red Wings this offseason. But getting a first-line center with the two-way ability and scoring production that Larkin brings would be a huge boon to the Kings' playoff chances in the Western Conference this upcoming season.
While the Kings did improve the center depth by signing veterans Erik Haula and Scott Laughton in free agency this summer, they still need a long-term solution for the first-line center.
