Among the four players who signed two-way contracts with the Los Angeles Kings on the second day of free agency was center Logan Brown. The Kings are the fourth organization that Brown has been a part of during his career, and these are three things that fans should know about one of the latest players to join the Kings.

Logan Brown was a first round pick in the 2016 NHL Draft

Logan Brown was the 11th overall pick by the Ottawa Senators in the 2016 NHL Draft. This was a talented draft class with players like Auston Matthews, Matthew Tkachuk and Charles McAvoy going in the first 15 picks that year.

The scouting report at the time described as "a huge center who excels at both ends of the ice." That might be an understatement for the 6'6" center who is hard to miss when he is on the ice.

Logan Brown hasn't appeared in an NHL game since 2022-23 season

After the Ottawa Senators traded Brown to the St. Louis Blues, he saw some extended time in the NHL with 69 games between the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons. During that stretch he had six goals and 11 assists but that would the last time he has played in an NHL game.

Brown would have to have hip surgery and missed the entire 2023-24 season while a member of the Tampa Bay Lightning. He would return to the ice this past season for their AHL-affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch and played in 33 games with 11 goals and 18 assists with one assist in three playoff games.

Logan Brown is the son of Jeff Brown

Hockey runs in the family for Logan Brown as his dad, Jeff Brown, spent 13 seasons in the NHL and played in 747 games. The older Brown was a defenseman and had stops in Carolina, Vancouver, Toronto, and Washington but spent the most time in his career with St. Louis, where spent five seasons.
