When a new general manager or head coach joins a franchise, it isn't uncommon for them to look at former players to join them at their new team. For the Los Angeles Kings, they brought in Ken Holland last month as the focus is on building out a roster that can make a deep playoff run and finally get out of the first round.

Holland certainly has had success with that, as he built three Stanley Cup teams with the Detroit Red Wings and was recently general manager of the Edmonton Oilers. In the final three seasons with the Oilers, they would reach the Conference Finals once and the Stanley Cup Finals once. The Oilers are back in the Stanley Cup Finals again this season, and while Holland isn't with the team, the work he put in helped them get back there again.

With that in mind, these are three players who played for Ken Holland at one point in their careers, and he might consider signing them this offseason.

Connor Brown

The Oilers signed Connor Brown on a one-year prove-it deal before the 2023-24 season after he played only four games the year prior due to an ACL injury. He would be pretty quiet for most of the regular season, with only four goals in 71 games, but was much better in the playoffs with six points in 19 playoff games.

The Oilers re-signed him prior to this season, and he has continued to get better with 13 goals in the regular season (highest since 2020-21) and has had five goals and three assists in 14 playoff games. It wouldn't be surprising if the Kings consider signing Brown for their bottom-six, as he likely would be added with a reasonable contract that can add good depth.
