Los Angeles Kings must remain aggressive in the third period

The Los Angeles Kings have had the lead in the third period all four games in this series, but have now lost two of those games. It is a significant issue because it was something that was not a problem during the regular season, as they were 35-1-2 in games when they had the lead after the second period.

It has seemed in each game that once the Kings get the lead, they look to play more defense and not be as aggressive pushing the puck up the ice and continue shooting on the Oilers. After the game on Sunday, the Oilers echoed a similar sentiment they have about this series and don't seem to be overly concerned when they are down.

The decision to not be as aggressive could be a decision by the coaching staff, knowing they have their players playing longer shifts and more minutes. They don't want to be out of position and give Edmonton odd-man rushes.

At this point, the strategy they have employed in the first four games has not worked. It might be time to try to be more aggressive and accept the possibility that the Oilers may get odd-man rushes.
