Los Angeles Kings win the Pacific Division

Without question the boldest prediction is that the Los Angeles Kings win the Pacific Division, the first time since the early 1990s. Right now, the Kings are second with their recent win streak and are only six points back of the Vegas Golden Knights and the Golden Knights have played one more game than the Kings.

Similar to the previous bold prediction, the rationale behind the Kings being able to surpass the Vegas Golden Knights is a favorable schedule as a majority of them will be at home. The Kings have the best home record in the entire NHL at 22-3-4 and that should help their chances to finish the regular season strong.

Meanwhile, the Golden Knights have 10 games on the road and only seven at home to close out the season. And of those 10 games, eight of them are in a scenario where they have to play on back-to-back nights. That type of travel can be draining on a team, particularly at the end of the season.

While it won't be easy, with how the Kings have played and the way the schedule shapes up it wouldn't at all be surprising to see them not only close the gap on the Golden Knights but surpass them before the end of the season.
