The Los Angeles Kings are in the midst of a four-game losing streak and heading into one of their toughest games of the season on Saturday with a road game against the Carolina Hurricanes. They have been shutout in consecutive games for the first time since the 2019-20 season and have gone eight straight periods without a goal.
The team certainly got some good news on Wednesday with the return of Drew Doughty but made the questionable decision to make Brandt Clarke a healthy scratch. After the game against the Florida Panthers, head coach Jim Hiller said it was to give Clarke a 'reset' on the season however he was once again a healthy scratch against the Tampa Bay Lightning and it raises the question if there is something more to this.
