Jacob Moverare, D
Since the 2024-25 season in the West, Jacob Moverare has provided consistent and reliable depth on the blue line on defense for the Kings in the Pacific Division. He contributed on the blue line on defense for 15 games in this past regular season for the Kings in the active roster lineup for the coaching staff.
Like Joseph, Moverare could offer the Kings and the coaching staff depth on the blue line on defense in the West in the Pacific Division this upcoming offseason and in the 2026-27 campaign in the next season. But I think the Kings are wanting to get an immediate contributor who can make an impact on the blue line on defense this upcoming season in the West in the Pacific Division.
Verdict: Leaving
Jeff Malott, W
Last fall in the preseason and ahead of the 2025-26 season, winger Jeff Malott was not planned to be in the active roster lineup in the league in the NHL for former head coach Jim Hiller and the Kings in the West. Malott earned a spot in the active roster lineup offensively for the Kings and Hiller this past preseason in the fall of 2025 at the winger position.
Malott proved that he belonged in the active roster lineup, even after the return of veteran winger Corey Perry in the active forward lines core group up front this past regular season in the Pacific Division. I think it's good to see Malott proving that he belongs and wants to be in the active roster lineup for the Kings offensively and for this upcoming offseason.
