2. Nazar Privalov, W (Krasnaya Armiya Moskva, MHL)
The reigning MHL Rookie of the Year, winger Nazar Privalov, is an absolute beast on both sides of the ice. At 6-foot-4, Privalov is an imposing power forward who can also beat opposing defenders with his playmaking and skill, especially for a winger of his size at 225 pounds.
Privalov uses his long reach and bigger frame to wreak havoc on opposing players on the forecheck and in the defensive zone. He can also use that long reach to win those tough 50-50 puck battles on the boards.
His bigger frame, athletic traits, and raw skill makes Privalov an extremely appealing forward to pro scouts, depending on what happens in the future with the long-term contract he signed in Russia this past year.
1. Landon DuPont, D (Michigan, NCAA)
There aren't any prospects right now in the 2027 draft class who profile to be as unique and special defensively as the rising Michigan Wolverines freshman defenseman Landon DuPont. The outstanding WHL player and widely viewed No. 1 prospect in the 2027 draft class, DuPont brings excellent skating ability, great puck skills, and decisive confidence to form a cohesive modern-day defenseman in all three zones on the ice.
DuPont is a creative playmaker and a really fundamentally sound skater who has great edge work, quickness, and speed. His shot release, creativity, and vision can wreak havoc on opposing teams from the point and on special teams on the power play.
On the defensive end of the ice, DuPont is just as adept to make his presence felt. He's great at blocking shots, playing with a physical edge, and using his speed to shutdown opposing players in the offensive zone and on the move in transition in the neutral zone.
It will be very exciting to see what DuPont can do during his first year in the NCAA at Michigan this upcoming season.
