Early in the game's first period against the Chicago Blackhawks, the Los Angeles Kings winger Warren Foegele suffered an injury on one of his first shifts of the game this evening. Foegele only had one complete shift this game before suffering the injury in the first period.
Los Angeles Kings forward Warren Foegele leaves the game vs. Chicago after a weird collision with Nick Foligno
Foegele took an awkward hit from Blackhawks forward Nick Foligno in the game's first period, just a few minutes into the opening frame, and he didn't return to the bench for the Kings. He was able to get up under his own power after taking the hit from Foligno, but he went straight down to the tunnel to the Kings' locker room.
The LA Kings PR account posted on X during the game after the first period that Foegele "will not return to tonight's game" for the Kings vs. the Blackhawks in Chicago.
Before leaving the game due to the injury, Foegele registered one hit in one complete shift for the Kings.
The Blackhawks scored first in tonight's game against the Kings, on a first-period goal from center Connor Bedard. Early in the second period, the Kings responded with two quick goals, including a really nice wrap-around tally from winger Kevin Fiala. Fiala's goal happened just 80 seconds after the Kings tied the game up on the scoreboard on a goal from Alex Laferriere in the second period.
Foegele has scored one goal in nine games played for the Kings early this regular season. He scored his first goal of the regular season for the Kings this fall at home this past week against the Pittsburgh Penguins (Oct. 16).
We will continue to monitor this situation for any injury updates and reports that come from the team in the wake of Foegele's injury in the first period vs. Chicago.
