The Los Angeles Kings made some moves prior to their game against the Anaheim Ducks on Friday, including placing Akil Thomas on injured reserve while recalling Andre Lee. However, in addition to those moves head coach Jim Hiller announced some other injuries the team is dealing with.
Prior to the game, Hiller announced that Trevor Moore was 'day-to-day' due to an injury however did not say what the injury was, according to Zach Dooley of LA Kings Insider. For the season, Moore has three goals and 10 assists but has struggled a bit as of late with only one point in the last five games, he also was -3 in the loss to the San Jose Sharks on Monday.
The news of the injury was a little surprising as Moore didn't seem to miss any time against the Winnipeg Jets as he played 21 shifts with a time of ice of 15:25, both in line with what he has done on a per game basis this season.
Prior to the Jets' game, the Los Angeles Kings shuffled their lines and Moore was on the second line with Quinton Byfield and Tanner Jeannot. The moves made by head coach Jim Hiller collectively were positive and that line played pretty well.
The Kings shuffled the lines again before the Ducks game with Moore unavailable and replaced him with Alex Turcotte. It remains to be seen what the severity of the injury is for Trevor Moore but we might get more clarity on Saturday as the Kings have another game today, this one against the Ottawa Senators.
If Trevor Moore is not available, the Kings do have an extended break as their next game won't be until Wednesday against the Dallas Stars and wouldn't be surprising if they place him on injured reserve with it retroactively going back to Thursday.
