The Los Angeles Kings got off to a really bad start against the Dallas Stars as they allowed two goals in the opening period. However, unlike some of their other slow starts this season they were able to regroup and play really good hockey over the final two periods to secure a 3-2 win over the Stars.
What was surprising from this game though is that it wasn't the players, like Anze Kopitar or Adrian Kempe, to lead the comeback. They got some big performances in this game from some key offseason additions.
These are the Top 3 Game Scores by Hockey Stat Cards for the Los Angeles Kings in the game against the Dallas Stars.
Warren Foegele (2.64)
The Los Angeles Kings signed Warren Foegele as a free agent this offseason after a career season with the Edmonton Oilers. Through the first part of the season, the Kings saw the same player that was with the Oilers and he continues to produce for this team.
On Wednesday night, he not only had an assist but also had a goal, which he had to work for as he controlled the puck deep in the Oilers' end before getting the puck in the net.
Jacob Moverare (2.57)
One of the biggest surprises recently has been the play of Jacob Moverare for this Kings' defense. He was brought up in the middle of November and has appeared in eight games now, primarily being paired with Jordan Spence.
The pairing of Moverare and Spence has really helped Spence, who was struggling at times this season, but on Wednesday Moverare was the one who stood out. He would finish the game with two hits and three blocks, which was tied with Vladislav Gavrikov for the team lead.
Once the Kings get Drew Doughty back, Moverare is probably the player to fall out of the rotation but it certainly hasn't been due to his play since being called up.
Tanner Jeannot (2.54)
It truthfully has not been a great start for Tanner Jeannot with the Los Angeles Kings after they traded with the Tampa Bay Lighting for him in the offseason. Entering this game, he had only two goals and one assist while also being suspended for a few games due to a hit against the Canucks.
However, Wednesday night against the Stars was easily his best performance of the season as he not only had three hits but also had one goal and one assist for his first multi-point game with the Kings. The goal was due in large part to his style of play as he was able to forecheck, steal the puck and after missing the shot stayed with the play and was able to finish with a goal off the rebound.
