Many of the Los Angeles Kings' top prospects in the farm system in the past few years have had their time to develop at the NHL level, especially on the blue line on defense. The Kings still have a very deep prospect pipeline in goal, and there are some promising talents among the forward group for LA in the minor league system.
Who will be the top Los Angeles Kings' prospects invited to training camp this fall?
Training camp begins in a little over one month for most NHL teams, with rookie mini-camps beginning a little before mid-September, going into this fall. In the coming weeks, we'll start to see more projections and news come out for the Kings regarding the players invited to training camp and going into the preseason.
While veterans like Adrian Kempe and Anze Kopitar have consistently produced offensively over the past half-decade, the Kings have seen many young players blossom in LA in the past few years.
Here's a look at which young players for the Kings need to step up in training camp this preseason in September.
Liam Greentree, RW
In the last couple of years, 19-year-old winger Liam Greentree has underwhelmed with his performances for Canada in world tournaments and the Hlinka Gretzky Cup in 2023. Greentree is likely to make his way to the AHL this upcoming season.

The 26th overall pick for the Kings in the first round of the 2024 NHL Entry Draft, Greentree has shown a natural talent for putting the puck in the net. He scored nearly 120 points and almost 50 goals in the OHL with the Windsor Spitfires this past season.
Greentree's combination of skill, size, and scoring makes him an intriguing prospect offensively for the Kings heading into the future for the system. He was the headlining invitee selected for the 2025 Development Camp for the Kings earlier this summer in El Segundo.
Carter George, G
Ontario native Carter George was one of the top goaltending prospects selected in the early rounds of the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. The 19-year-old netminder George was tremendous for Team Canada in the World Juniors this past year as the starting goalie.
George was one of a handful of young goaltenders invited to training camp last year for the Kings, along with Sweden native Erik Portillo in 2024. He won his first start in the AHL last season with the Ontario Reign.
While George doesn't have great size or athletic traits in goal, at 6-foot-1 and 190-pounds, he does have a fundamental aspect and a calmness to his game between the pipes that makes him really polished for his age at the position.
Jakub Dvorak, D
The 20-year-old Jakub Dvorak is arguably the Kings' top blue line prospect in the system going into the 2025-26 season and training camp next month. Dvorak is a fluid and overwhelming 6-foot-5 and 205-pound defenseman who can shut down opponents in the defensive zone.
Dvorak's statistical production wasn't anything crazy for the AHL's Reign this past season, registering four assists and no goals in 46 games played in the 2024-25 campaign. But he did prove to be a defensive force who could adapt easily and hold his own in the AHL and World Juniors for the Czech Team this past year.
