The Los Angeles Kings development system in the minor leagues is in action this fall, with the hockey season underway at pretty much every level in early October this month. Including the AHL affiliate Ontario Reign, the Kings have prospects in the minor league and development system playing in games in the regular season at more than three different levels in hockey.
Henry Brzustewicz stars among the top Los Angeles Kings' prospects in the system this week
Just a couple of weeks into the season for the AHL and the OHL, pretty much all Kings' prospects have at least a few games played under their belts in the minors and the juniors this fall.
Here are three Kings' prospects and minor league players in the development system who stood out in the first full week of the regular season this fall.
Francesco Pinelli, F (Ontario Reign-AHL)
In the Reign's regular season opener this past week against the Tucson Roadrunners on Oct. 10, Ontario fought back and forth in a 5-4 overtime loss in a high-scoring game at Toyota Arena.
Forward Francesco Pinelli scored one goal and two total points for the Reign, including the game's second goal in the opening frame last week. Pinelli also assisted forward Akil Thomas on the eventual game-tying goal late in the third period in clutch time against the Roadrunners.
Since the start of the 2024-25 regular season, Pinelli has registered 16 goals and over 30 total points in the AHL for Ontario.
Henry Brzustewicz, D (London Knights-OHL)
Hands down, one of the top prospects in the Los Angeles development system in the minors and juniors this past week was the Kings' top defenseman prospect, Henry Brzustewicz. The most recent first-round draft pick on the blue line for the Kings this past summer in the offseason, Brzustewicz is off to a hot start in both ends of the ice this fall for the London Knights.
In back-to-back games for the Knights in the OHL, Brzustewicz scored three goals and three total points, while amassing an insane 17 shots on goal against the Erie Otters and Sarnia Sting this past weekend.

Forward Andre Lee opened up the Reign's season on the scoreboard this fall for Ontario in the overtime loss this past week to the Roadrunners on Oct. 10. Lee scored on a quick shot from the high circle off the faceoff for the Reign in the home opener last week against Tucson in Ontario.
Lee has a two-game point streak starting off this fall early in this regular season for the Reign. He's also registered an assist in the Reign's first win of the regular season this past weekend on Sunday against the Roadrunners by a score of 4-2.
