In just under one month, there is a chance that multiple top prospects in the Los Angeles Kings' minor league and developmental system will get to compete in the 2026 World Juniors Championship in Duluth, MN. In the coming weeks, we'll start to see various Kings' prospects in the developmental system getting picked for preliminary rosters and to compete in training camps ahead of the World Juniors in a few weeks in late December.

We can look at the roster for Team USA, since it was one of the first major country preliminary rosters ahead of training camp to be released early this week. A couple of Kings' prospects were included on the preliminary roster for this winter later this month in December.

The United States team released their preliminary roster for the 2026 World Juniors Championship on Dec. 1. This list for the preliminary roster for Team USA for the World Juniors in a few weeks is not the official roster. The preliminary roster includes the players who will compete in training camp in a couple of weeks in Minnesota for Team USA at AMSOIL Arena.

Defensemen Henry Brzustewicz and left winger Brendan McMorrow will attend training camp in a couple of weeks, representing the Kings with Team USA on the preliminary roster for the World Juniors this winter in December.

The Kings' first round pick from the 2025 NHL Entry Draft on the blue line on defense, Brzustewicz is among the youngest defensemen who were invited to training camp for Team USA this fall. He's been stellar in the OHL playing for the London Knights this regular season this fall. If Brzustewicz can make an impact and turn heads early in training camp in Duluth in a couple of weeks, he could be a dark horse to make the final Team USA roster for the World Juniors in a few weeks.

McMorrow is also a young and speedy player who has generated some buzz for his skill with the puck in the open ice and in the offensive zone from the Team USA coaching staff this fall for the team. McMorrow needs to prove that he can skate with the very best for Team USA at training camp for World Juniors among the forwards in a couple of weeks.

Brzustewicz and McMorrow both are working to make the Team USA roster as first-time invitees to training camp for the World Juniors.

Many other Kings' top prospects in the developmental system are expected to be invited to other country's rosters for the 2026 World Juniors Championships in the next week or so, including forward Liam Greentree and goalie Carter George.
