Kings face elimination in Game 4
Being down in this series in the West in the postseason in the playoffs late this week and this upcoming weekend on Saturday afternoon by a mark of 3-0 makes this almost impossible for the Kings to climb out of this hole in the next upcoming few days or so this spring in the league.
"It’s the playoffs, it’s hard to score 5-on-5. I think if you look at the analytics and what we’re creating and what we created tonight, it’s a pretty big number. In the regular season, we were scoring a really, really good rate. We were getting those looks, we’re just not capitalizing. We had more o-zone time than they did tonight, that doesn’t happen very often, probably for them. We’re keeping pucks alive, give them credit, though. They’re a really good defensive team and we just haven’t found a way or maybe have that bounce to score some of those ugly goals."DJ Smith
A couple of really bad bounces and unfortunate miscues cost Smith, Forsberg, and the Kings on the ice yesterday. I don't think that the final score on the scoreboard yesterday for the Kings was a good indication of how well they actually played on the ice.
The fact that the Avalanche have an almost insurmountable lead in this series in the postseason in the playoffs makes this a really difficult hill to climb offensively in the zone for the Kings this upcomign weekend on the ice.
