Mikey Anderson and Anton Forsberg lead a tremendous defensive effort in the zone for the Kings
The Kings held the high-powered Avalanche stars offensively to just an impressive 0-for-3 on special teams on the power play on the 5-on-4 man advantage yesterday. Physical play and confident defense on the blue line from Anderson and the Kings kept the door open for LA to win the game on the scoreboard in the middle frame in the second period yesterday.
Anderson and the Kings had around three dozen hits and blocked nearly two dozen shots on the blue line on defense. Forsberg stopped 34 out of the 36 shots he faced.
"It’s tough, the way it ended, both games. We’re right in there, playing well, we’re fighting, we’re fighting hard. Just got to stick with it and turn this around."Anton Forsberg
I don't know how many better times I've seen the Kings shut down the opponent on the blue line on defense this past regular season in this past few months on the ice or in the postseason in the playoffs in the West. Anderson and forwards Alex Laferriere and Mathieu Joseph helped to set the tone and the confidence physically on the blue line for the Kings in this past week in the postseason in the playoffs in the West.
