The LA Kings and Ken Holland in the front office are expected to prioritize interviewing in the West at least a half dozen candidates roughly this upcoming offseason in this upcoming next couple of months in late spring.

In this upcoming next few months this upcoming offseason in the summer of 2026 in the West, the Los Angeles Kings and general manager Ken Holland have been known to be undertaking a head coaching search in the Pacific Division.

This past couple of weeks, the Kings and Holland in the front office have made it known that they will be prioritizing roughly a half-dozen target list candidates to possibly interview in the West this upcoming offseason in the summer of 2026.

The Kings and Holland in the front office need to prioritize filling holes in the active roster lineup defensively this upcoming offseason in this upcoming next few months in free agency and the block. Getting better with the offensive zone and scoring the puck in the active roster lineup will be a top priority for Holland and the Kings this upcoming offseason in the West.

The Kings' team has been pretty successful in this past four or five regular seasons in the West in the Pacific Division in the early-to-mid 2020s decade (since the 2021-22 season). In this past three regular seasons, the Kings have registered over 100 points in the West in the Pacific Division in two out of the last three consecutive seasons.

Finding the right active roster lineup direction this upcoming offseason in the summer is a necessary move in this upcoming next few months in the West for the Kings and the front office in 2026.

Pursuing an outside head coaching candidate in the West in the Pacific Division could be a move for the Kings to fill holes in priority this upcoming offseason in the summer of 2026. In the Pacific Division in the West, former Vegas Golden Knights veteran head coach Bruce Cassidy could connect to the players in the locker room and on the ice this upcoming offseason in 2026.

David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period reported this past Tuesday on the Oilersnation Everyday show that there might potentially not be a fit for the head coaching position job with the Kings for Cassidy this upcoming offseason in the summer. Now, I will say that this doesn't concretely mean that there won't be a connection this upcoming offseason in 2026 between the Kings and Cassidy as a possible target list candidate for the LA management personnel in this upcoming next few months.

"I don't see it, I don't see that [LA] being a fit for Bruce Cassidy. "

I still think that Cassidy will be on the short target list of head coaching candidates for the job opening with the Kings in the West in the Pacific Division this upcoming offseason in the summer in the next couple of months and in late spring. Holland and the Kings in the front office look for a new head coach to lead the direction of the franchise in the West this upcoming offseason.
