Andrei Kuzmenko - Quinton Byfield - Adrian Kempe
Now with a full season at center in the NHL, Quinton Byfield is ready to take over that spot on the top line from Anze Kopitar. He finished the season one point shy of his career-high, but that was due to a quiet start to the first half of the season before he had 19 points in the final 32 regular season games.
On one side of Byfield is obviously going to be Adrian Kempe, who is the team's best forward at this point in his career. He is consistently leading the team in points and should do so again next season.
On the other side, Andrei Kuzmenko should remain in this spot after the way he finished the season with the Kings after the trade deadline. He helped solidify that spot after it was a bit of a revolving door of forwards for most of the season.
Kevin Fiala - Phillip Danault - Trevor Moore
This is where the surprises might really start to come into play as Anze Kopitar should not be on the second line in these new lines. It would certainly be bold, and truthfully unlikely, but putting Phillip Danault with Kevin Fiala and Trevor Moore could be a winning combination that helps give a boost to the offense.
Last season, according to Money Puck, these three players on a line had the third-best xGoals % of 57.5% of the forward lines with at least 150 minutes of ice time and were almost a full percentage point better than Kuzmenko-Kopitar-Kempe.
