Instead of picking winger Devin Setoguchi eighth overall in the first round of the 2005 in this hypothetical redraft, the San Jose Sharks select center Paul Statsny in the top 10. Statsny was a great value pick by the Colorado Avalanche in the second round, 44th overall. He slides up over 30 picks to go in the top 10 to the Sharks in this redraft.
Statsny was one of just three centers in this draft class who registered at least 800 career points and played in over 1,000 career games. While Statsny had an up-and-down career in the NHL, he showed great longevity while playing in the league for over 15 seasons.
