The Boston Bruins originally picked defenseman Lars Jonsson seventh overall in the first round of the 2000 draft lottery. In this hypothetical redraft in the draft lottery in the 2000 class, the Bruins select longtime Detroit Red Wings heavy-hitter and blue-liner Niklas Kronwall.

Kronwall slides up 22 picks to be selected seventh overall in the first round in this hypothetical redraft of the 2000 draft in the top 10 by the Bruins. He could've given the Bruins consistent physical play and solid production offensively for the course of over a decade in the NHL.

A consecutive run of blue-liners being selected in the draft lottery at No. 8 overall gives longtime Kings and Anaheim Ducks defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky to the Bolts in Tampa Bay. Visnovsky has more goals scored and career points in games played than any other defenseman in the regular season in this class from the 2000 draft.

The original pick for the Lightning at No. 8 overall in the first round of the 2000 draft lottery, right-winger Nikita Alexeev was one of two wingers selected in the top 10 of the 2000 draft who scored fewer than 50 career points in the regular season.

This isn't the sexiest pick for the Calgary Flames at No. 9 overall in the first round of the 2000 draft lottery. But it makes sense on paper for the Flames to pick goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov ninth overall in the first round in the '00 draft class.

Bryzgalov was a solid starting goaltender for nearly a decade in the NHL in his career with the Coyotes in Phoenix and the Philadelphia Flyers in the East. Given that the Flames needed a goaltender in the 2000 draft, after the Flames ranked in the bottom five in the NHL in goals against and team save percentage in the 1999-00 season, Bryzgalov is a sensible fit in net in Calgary.
