4. Yegor Rybkin (Nizhny Novgorod, MHL)

You won't find many goalie prospects in this draft class with a bigger and more towering frame than the 6-foot-7 and 210-pound Russian Yegor Rybkin. The huge frame and length that Rybkin brings to the crease make him a very noticeable and imposing presence for opposing players around the net in the zone.

For Rybkin to really meet his potential at the next level, he'll need to improve his tracking on low shots and sharpen his ability to seal off the post when players in the zone try to beat him down low. He can get beat on the five hole and/or low blocker from the film I've seen of him out there.

In the modern NHL, having the type of size, net-sealing ability, and athleticism that Rybkin brings is a major asset to pro scouts. His insane size and length will be very appealing to teams to tap into his immense upside, but he still lacks the proven resume of many other goaltenders who have been pick in the first couple of rounds of the draft in recent years.

3. Dmitri Borichev (Lokomotiv, MHL)

The young 17-year-old goaltender Dmitri Borichev is the next impressive draft prospect at the position out of Russia. Since the Columbus Blue Jackets picked Pyotr Andreyanov 20th overall in the first round of the 2025 draft, the possibility of getting talented and potent Russian goalies has been a common storyline around the league and draft circles in the media.

At 6-foot-3 and 200-pounds, Borichev has the size and athletic profile to that would appeal to pro scouts at the position. He has a quick glove, great reactions, and solid and consistent rebound control.

Borichev takes up a ton of the net with how big he is, but his positioning and fundamentals could still use some improvement before he's ready to take his game to the next level.
