1. NHL 94
NHL '94 is very commonly considered by most to be the greatest hockey video game ever made. Many also consider it to be among the greats of the sports video games made in this past few decades since the early 1990s decade.
Even if you pick up the game today for the Sega Genesis or the PC, the advanced gameplay features presentation and puck control are fantastic by even today's standards I believe. The game modes and presentation that were variety available in 1994 makes this game fantastic through these past few decades until the 2020s today.
It's noteworthy that this was the first game that the NHL and NHLPA licensed officially to be made by EA Sports.
You could play a shootout mode, playoffs tournaments, and full regular season game modes. IGN named this game one of its 100 best SNES games of all-time.
