2. NHL Hitz 2003
Outside of EA Sports and Sega 2K, Midway Sports also made NHL hockey video games in the early-to-mid 2000s decade over two decades ago after the turn of the century. Midway Sports released multiple NHL hockey video games in a hyperbolic style that was very similar to the NBA Jam and NFL Blitz franchise games in the early 2000s decade over 20 years ago.
NHL Hitz showed off the violent and disorganized chaotic style of nature that hockey was fun to pick up and play in the early 2000s decade. You could pick up the controller and worry about knowing how fast to hit other players and how aggressively to play immediately.
I think NHL Hitz 2003 was the best of the three developer series hockey video game releases from Midway Sports over 20 years ago in the early 2000s decade. Being able to hit opponents through the glass, play 3-on-3 hockey, and the exaggerated version of the game in this video game from Midway Sports in 2002.
As a side note, I loved the franchise mode in this game with how ridiculous those features got in the game in the early 2000s decade.
