The Hockey News named NHL 14 as their pick for the best EA Sports NHL hockey franchise game in the history of the sport for the series. And The Hockey News wasn't the only publication that found NHL 14 to be a great and one-of-a-kind hockey sports video game series.
NHL 14 won the "Best Sports Game" award from Game Critics Awards Best of E3 2013, and the "Sports Game of the Year" nomination from the Annual D.I.C.E. Awards in 2014.
NHL 14 is widely considered the modern standard example and the peak climax of the best EA Sports NHL hockey video games series in this past decade or so since the early 2010s. The combination of sparkling gameplay presentation features, puck control, and physics engines made this game the best from this era.
