1. Alexander Frolov
Right from the start of his rookie season in 2002, it was easy to see what made Russian winger Alexander Frolov special for the Kings. He made his mark right away on the Kings forward group, registering double-digit goals and over 30 total points in his rookie season in 2002-03, which garnered him a top 10 finish in the Calder Trophy voting.
Frolov is a story of what could've been for the Kings had injuries not decimated his NHL career in the late 2000s. He was an incredibly consistent and productive offensive winger for the Kings after being selected 20th overall in the first round of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.
Not only did Frolov register five straight 20-goal seasons for the Kings in the 2000s, but he also scored 30 goals twice in the decade.
Frolov leads all Kings wingers in goals scored, assists, and total points during the decade. He was the only Kings' winger to register over 200 assists and 25 game-winning goals in the decade.
Injuries ultimately kept Frolov from reaching his lofty potential with the Kings. But the fact of the matter is that Frolov was a homegrown first-round talent for the Kings who produced multiple 20 and 30-goal seasons, including a postseason appearance with Los Angeles in the 2009-10 season.
