1. Felix Potvin
The Kings had a reliable and proven starting goalie to anchor the crease for a team that was a consistent playoff contender in the Western Conference after the turn of the century in the former Toronto Maple Leaf Felix Potvin.
He immediately stabilized the Kings' goalie situation after arriving from the Vancouver Canucks, and he became one of the primary reasons LA made a respectable playoff run in 2001. Potvin registered over a .910 save percentage and double-digit shutouts in his first couple of seasons with the Kings in the early 2000s decade.
Potvin found something of a re-emergence in his NHL career in the early 2000s with the Kings. After playing for three teams in as many seasons in the late 1990s, Potvin helped power the Kings to a playoff appearance in 2001.
He helped the Kings pull off one of the biggest upsets in the Western Conference in the 2001 postseason, pulling off an impressive comeback in the first round against the powerhouse Red Wings to win the series 4-2. The Kings and Potvin also pushed the eventual Stanley Cup Champion Avalanche to the brink in the second round of the 2001 postseason.
While the 2000s decade didn't have the deepest pool of starting goalies for the Kings, Potvin was the standard regarding both his numbers and impact in the regular season and reaching double-digit wins in the playoffs.
