Brandt Clarke, D
There is not a more important impending restricted free agent early this offseason that the Kings and Holland must sign to a contract extension deal than 23-year-old defenseman Brandt Clarke.
Signing Clarke to a long-term extension should be one of the organization's top priorities this offseason.
Clarke is a foundational piece of the Kings' blue line and one of the organization's most important young players. He's also made it clear that he wants to be a part of the Kings' blue line for the foreseeable future as he develops into a premier defenseman in the league going into the future.
While Clarke may not be the next player to sign, securing him to a long-term extension is arguably the most important contract priority facing the organization.
Clarke is coming off a career year statistically on the blue line on defense for the Kings this past regular season. He registered a career-high of eight goals, 32 assists, and 40 total points while playing all 82 games in the regular season for the first time in his career in the 2025-26 campaign.
He also emerged as more of a clutch player and a trusted point guy on special teams on the power play on the 5-on-4 man advantage this past season for the Kings on the blue line. Clarke scored multiple game-winning goals this past regular season for the first time in his career.
And he played a career high of well over 150 minutes on special teams on the point on the power play unit for the Kings.
The offensive potency, puck movement, and tremendous natural skating skills that Clarke brings to the Kings' blue line makes him a key player to re-sign in restricted free agency for Holland this offseason.
