The regular season is right around the corner for the Los Angeles Kings and collectively as a team they have one goal, which is to not only get to the playoffs but make a deep run. However, individually some players are in a great position to have career seasons as they could step into bigger roles.

When looking ahead to the upcoming season, these are five players who could set career-highs in specific categories.

Quinton Byfield

Over the past two seasons, Quinton Byfield has been productive for the Los Angeles Kings with 109 points in 161 games. However, it feels like the former second overall pick is just scratching the surface, and this might be the season where everything comes together.

When looking at his expected role and how he finished last season, Byfield has a chance to set a new career-high in assists. The current total is 35 assists, which he had in the 2023-24 season for the Kings.

The reason that this season could be better is what he was able to do down the stretch last season. Byfield got off to a slow start but in the final 32 games of the regular season, he had 19 assists which is around .59 assists per game. If he keeps that average over an entire season he will finish with close to 50.

While he may not get to 50, there is no reason that Byfield can't break 40 assists this season.
