4. Bob Pulford

Bob Pulford would be the first head coach who made it past two seasons as head coach for the Los Angeles Kings. He would coach five seasons in total from 1973 to 1977 and finished with third most games coached and third most points.

After missing the playoffs in his first season, he would lead the Kings to four straight playoff appearances, including reaching the second round in the final two seasons. Even though he was one of the first coaches, he still ranks high in playoff success for the franchise with the fourth most playoff victories at 11.

3. Andy Murray

The next coach on this list is Andy Murray, who coached six seasons for the Los Angeles Kings from 2000 to 2006. He owns the franchise record in most games coached at 480, most points (520) and led the Kings to the playoffs in each of his first three seasons with the franchise.

Those first three years were clearly the best after surpassing 90 points in each season but after that the team was mediocre. They would finish no worse than fourth in the division and were around .500 in terms of points percentage but after three seasons missing the playoffs, the Kings felt it was time for a chance.
