Before the regular season, or even the preseason, the Los Angeles Kings will be on the ice as part of the Rookie Faceoff in just under two weeks.

The seven-team tournament will take place over four days in Los Angeles at the Toyota Sports Performance Center and will include Pacific Division rivals Anaheim Ducks, San Jose Sharks, Vegas Golden Knights, and Seattle Kraken. It will also include the Utah Hockey Club and the Colorado Avalanche from the Central Division.

For the Kings' coaching staff, this will be a little extra time for them to evaluate some of the younger players on the roster, including 11 former draft picks. This group includes three players from this past draft class with first-round pick Liam Greentree, second-round pick Carter George, and sixth-round pick Jared Woolley.

However, it will also be a good warm up for the Los Angeles Kings' players with the 2024-25 season quickly approaching, some of which should be key parts of the NHL roster.

The Kings will play three games over the four days with the first on Friday, September 13th against the Vegas Golden Knights at 7:00 PM PT. They will play back-to-back with their next game on Saturday the 14th at 7:00 PM PT against the Utah Hockey Club. After a break on Sunday, they will wrap up the tournament against the Anahiem Ducks at 3:30 PM PT on Monday.
