The Los Angeles Kings didn't make many notable free agent signings this offseason outside of Warren Foegele, who signed a three-year contract with an AAV of $3.5 million. The former Carolina Hurricanes and Edmonton Oilers forward is coming off a career year and the Kings are hoping he can keep that momentum heading into this season.

What to expect from Warren Foegele in the 2024-25 season?

As mentioned, last year was Warren Foegele's best in the NHL as he didn't have a season prior to 2023-24 with more than 13 goals or 17 assists. However, the Kings are hoping that he not only can match last year's totals but surpass them.

Shortly after signing, Warren Foegele described his style of play according to Zach Dooley with LA Kings Insider:

“I would say my game is a two-way, fast, physical forward,” he said. “The two things that I rely on the most for my game is my speed and my work ethic. I like to be tenacious and create turnovers for my linemates, close space on opposing teams so they’re forcing turnovers. That would be what LA Kings fans can probably expect, is a hard-working, two-way forward who has some speed.”

In addition to his play on the ice, he brings plenty of playoff experience as he reached at least the second round in five of his six seasons in the NHL. This includes two trips to the Conference Finals and reaching the Stanley Cup finals this past season.

At this point, the Kings should be planning for a line of Kevin Fiala, Quinton Byfield, and Foegele as their second line. The experience of Foegele and Fiala should help the younger Byfield who is moving to center this season.
