What to expect from Martin Chromiak in the 2024-25 season?

There is no denying that the talent is there to put the puck in the back of the net as evidenced by his 44 goals with the Kingston Frontenacs in the OHL in the 2021-22 season. However, the results have been pretty modest in his first two seasons in the AHL with the Ontario Reign. He has had 15 goals each season but has struggled to show much past that.

Austin Stanovich of The Hockey News wrote about Chromiak:

The concern with Chromiak remains the same. He isn't the most consistent player and his play away from the puck leaves a lot to be desired.

This certainly a fair assessment and why the Kings were able to select him where they did in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. When looking ahead to this season, it would be surprising to see him with the Kings.

He will have a big role with the Ontario Reign and this season will be his chance to prove he can be that consistent player. If he does that, then he should be competing in 2025-26 for a spot with the Los Angeles Kings because he can definitely help with the lack of offensive punch this team has.
