Kevin Fiala is entering the third season of his seven-year contract he signed with the Los Angeles Kings prior to the 2022-23 season. He would have a good first season with the Kings with 23 goals, 49 assists, and 72 points in 69 games.

However, in his second season he was even better and the hope is that the trend can continue this upcoming season.

What to expect from Kevin Fiala in the 2024-25 season?

Aside from just the increases in the general stats, Kevin Fiala was more efficient and effective this past season. He saw his shot percentage increase from 11.1% to 12.9% on almost 20 more shots. Meanwhile his Corsi For % at Even Strength went from 52.4% to 56.8%.

However, the Kings are hoping that Fiala can get back to the production he had in his final season with the Minnesota Wild, the one before he joined the Kings. In that season, Fiala set career-highs in goals (33), assists (52), points (85), and +/- (23).

The Kings did not have any player come close to 80 points this past year and need someone to establish themselves on offense. He should be on that second line but the question will be who he will be playing next to with Phillip Danault or Quinton Byfield competing for that role.

If it does end up being Byfield, Fiala will need to help the younger player as he moves back to center and makes that transition to the NHL full-time. It remains to be seen who will be leading the Los Angeles Kings in goals this season but Kevin Fiala certainly will be in that discussion.
