It will be a number of firsts for the Los Angeles Kings this preseason as they will play their first game in their new uniforms with Jim Hiller stepping in as the full-time head coach after serving as interim head coach last season.
However, the one thing they will have to wait a little longer for is playing in Crypto.com Arena as the arena will not be ready due to renovations. The preseason schedule will begin in Utah on Monday, September 23rd against the Utah Hockey Club.
They follow that up with a game two nights later in Las Vegas against the Golden Knights before heading to Ontario for their first “home game” against the Anaheim Ducks on September 28th. It will be a back-to-back series with the Ducks with a road game on September 30th.
The Kings will wrap up the preseason on the East Coast with two games in Quebec City. They will play the Bruins on October 3rd with their final preseason game on October 5th against the Florida Panthers.
The East Coast trip to end the preseason should help with a long road trip to open the 2024-2025 season. They will play their first five games of the season all in the Eastern Time Zone starting with the Buffalo Sabres with the first home game at Crypto.com Arena on October 24th against the San Jose Sharks.
