Montreal Canadiens

Another team that is rebuilding and looking to acquire young players is the Montreal Canadiens. They did so earlier this week by trading with the Columbus Blue Jackets for Patrik Laine. He had a promising start to his career with the Winnipeg Jets but hasn't been nearly the same the past few seasons with the Blue Jackets.

In fact, he played only 18 games last season due to an injury and will be trying to bounce back with the Canadiens. As Stu Cowan with The Montreal Gazette wrote, the Canadiens have a history of adding talented players who could be needing just a change of scenery.

The recent acquistion of Laine may take the Canadiens out of consideration for Kaliyev since they play the same position. However, Montreal needs to bring in as much talent and should at least still be interesting in discussing a possible trade.
