Oilers take over third period for second time in three games

The Edmonton Oilers for the second time in three games have scored four goals in the final period. They did it in Game 1 where they made a furious comeback and even tied it in the closing minutes but thankfully Phillip Danault responded and the Kings would win that game.

Unfortunately, the Kings didn't have the same luck in this one as Evander Kane tied the game at four, Bouchard followed it up with the power play goal before the Oilers added two empty net goals to seal the win.

During the regular season, the Los Angeles Kings were very good in the final period and outscored their opponents 96-80. They also were 12-0-1 on the road when having a lead heading into the third period. This has to be a concerning trend for the coaching staff that they will need to figure out a way to fix and avoid moving forward.
